GARAGE CONVERSION

WALTER BENNETT provided architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services to add a cabana bathroom and relocate their existing laundry area. The garage had been previously renovated, however it was not built without permits and not to current building code standards.

 

In order to update the garage conversion properly, the floor level needed to be raised, and therefore all of the existing walls needed to be removed and reconstructed. The existing stackable washer and dryer needed to be relocated, electrical in the walls needed to be revised, and new water and sewer lines needed to be added to accommodate a new cabana bathroom. Furthermore, adjustments needed to be made to the existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to accommodate the renovation and satisfy the City of Boca Raton and the State of Florida Building Codes and Regulations.
